Fondation Jean-Charles Bonenfant - Bourses de la démocratie

Resulting from a collaboration between the Fondation Jean-Charles-Bonenfant and the Caisse Desjardins de l’Administration et des Services publics, the Bourses de la démocratie recognize the involvement and intellectual commitment of undergraduate students. Each year, 20 scholarships, each worth $1,000, are awarded to individuals who, through work or research, promote and support Quebec’s democracy or knowledge of its parliamentary institutions.

Call for applications
You can submit your application for the 2023-2024 edition of the program between December 15, 2023, and March 15, 2024.

Eligibility
To be eligible, you must:
•    study at a Quebec university
•    be enrolled full-time or part-time in an undergraduate program
•    have completed a project or research work on Quebec democracy or its parliamentary institutions between January 1, 2023, and December 31, 2023,
•    email your completed application form, a copy of your project or research paper, and proof of school attendance to fondationjcb@assnat.qc.ca, all before March 15, 2024, at 11:59 p.m.

Evaluation criteria
When analyzing applications, we will pay particular attention to the following:
•    the quality of the answers on the form,
•    the quality of the sources used in the project or research work
•    the originality of the subjects addressed in the project or research work and their link to democracy
•    the quality of the French language in the form.
